After This Couple Refused to Treat Their Sick Dog, Authorities Searched Their Property. They Found Over 100 Animals Suffering.

After a grueling four-month investigation, over 100 suffering animals have been saved from a nightmarish Florida home.

You read that right -- more than 100 animals, including "18 dogs, 11 puppies and 73 birds" were being abused and neglected by two people who have now been arrested.

Now we need to make sure justice is truly served. Jail time and a fine simply aren't enough. Sign the petition asking the attorney on this case to push for a lifetime animal ownership ban for these abusers!

This all began in the summer, when officers found that the dogs on this couple's property were not being properly cared for. Specifically one dog, a sweet German Shepherd named Thor, was suffering immensely -- he had a "severe ear infection and hip issues" that desperately needed to be treated. But when the couple was told that they had to provide the 7-year-old dog with veterinary care, they flat out refused.

The couple told authorities they couldn't check on Thor, or any of their other animals for that matter. That was when the alarm bells went off, and authorities gained access to the property. It was a true house of horrors when they arrived.

Living in squalor and neglect were dogs, puppies, and birds totaling to over 100 animals. One bird had already died when officers arrived. Luckily, they evacuated the rest of the animals to get them into good care and, eventually, safe and loving homes.

But the question still remains -- why in the world did this couple have all of these animals if they were intent on letting them suffer and even die? While they have been charged with animal cruelty, we need to make sure the penalties fit the crime. These two are clearly unfit to care for other living things ever again.

That's why we're asking for the Fifth Judicial Circuit State Attorney William Gladson to recommend a lifetime ban on animal ownership for this Florida couple. It's the only way to make sure this never happens again. Sign the petition if you agree!
