The reckless disregard of safety by Oil companies drilling for oil is well know. The most recent is BP catastrophic oil leak which the United States to date has been unable to stop. BP oil leak continues to contaminate the ocean and threatening the livelihood of thousands and thousands of people in the United States.
The United States is a super power and to date has been unable to stop the oil leak.
My dear friends could you imagine what will happen to our little beautiful Belize if we allow oil companies to dig in our waters and risk an accident such as this BP oil catastrophe to occur?
We don%u2019t want to this to happen and risk the lives and livelihood of Belizeans. This would be catastrophic for our country%u2019s economy. So, we the people of Belize and our friends of the world come together to sign this petition and say ABSOLUTELY NO DRILLING IN BELIZE!!!!
We ask our Prime Minister Dean Barrow not to cater to the oil industry, to protect our jewel of Belize by looking out for the Belizean people and doing the right thing by saying NO to the drilling of oil in Belizean water.
Mr. Prime Minister please protect your country by NOT signing any agreements allowing any oil companies to drill in Belizean waters.
