Don't Slash Budget for Renewable Energy Programs

  • by: Kevin Mathews
  • recipient: Senator Patrick Leahy, Ranking Democratic Member of Senate Appropriations Committee

According to the latest reports, the White House's budget proposal includes a worrisome 72% cut to renewable energy programs.

Although it's clear President Donald Trump prefers to help his friends in the fossil fuel industries, there's no denying that solar and wind are the energies of the future. Eliminating our programs and research on this sector are putting us at a disadvantage in an increasingly global market.

That's why we're asking the Senate Appropriations Committee to give renewable energy a fighting chance in the United States by ignoring the budget proposal and funding the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy in full. Sign now to show your support for renewable energy!
