Emily Was Brutally Beaten by Police for Drinking a Beer on the Beach

"You're not allowed to hit me and choke me like that!"

Emily Weinman wasn't yelling that disturbing sentence to a colleague or a co-worker, but to a full grown male police officer who had attacked her, thrown her down and began to pummel her with his fists in full view of an onlooking crowd.

The 20-year-old was initially approached by the officers about underage drinking. But the situation quickly got out of hand. An onlooker who saw the confrontation decided to film the incident and luckily she did. Because without it it would be quite hard to believe that a police officer would treat a young woman this way. The resulting video is shocking.

As for Weinman, in a Facebook post, she said she was with her 18-month-old daughter, her child's father and a friend when police approached her and asked her name and age. She admits that she should have told the police her name the first time, but when one of the police grabbed her, she tripped and that's when all hell broke loose.

Regardless of how Emily behaved, police are trained to handle these situations, and choking and punching a young woman is NOT in the playbook.

Emily's breathalyzer came back negative but she is still living with the scars of that day. Meanwhile, the police officers responsible have only been given desk duty. That is unacceptable, they should be fired.
