Say YES to 25,000 Syrian Refugees in Canada

In the aftermath of the terrorist attacks in Paris, Beirut, Kenya and Nigeria, we must respond in unity with compassion for those affected, including those seeking refuge from ISIS and other terror networks around the world.

But instead of widespread acceptance, Canada has responded with a backlash that could threaten Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's plan to welcome 25,000 Syrian refugees by the end of the year.

Several Canadian politicians are expressing misguided security concerns over the Liberal party's settlement plan for Syrian refugees. Much like the chilling response by many U.S. governors, some Canadian leaders are re-evaluating their support for refugee resettlement in response to the Paris attacks.

Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall has gone as far as to urge Prime Minister Trudeau to hold off on welcoming Syrian refugees. Shockingly, he is not alone in this demand.

To give in to these fears is not only to turn our backs on the thousands of Syrians seeking safety, but also to deny Canadian values. In Canada, humanitarianism, compassion and hospitality win over fear, exclusion and racism. As Canadians, we welcome Syrian refugees fleeing terror with open arms.

Please take action today if you will stand strong against the fear, in favor of the Prime Minister's plan.

Sign the petition saying YES to 25,000 Syrian refugees in Canada. Together, we must encourage Prime Minister Trudeau to push forward with the plan to give 25,000 Syrians a safe refuge in Canada.
