Save the Great Barrier Reef: Help Strengthen Environmental Laws

The Australian government thinks that there's too much protection for the places we love — including the Great Barrier Reef. Despite it being a one-of-a-kind World Heritage site, the government has approved a giant coal mine expansion near our loved Great Barrier Reef.

At a time when the Great Barrier Reef and some of Australia's most sacred places are under unprecedented threat, the government wants to shirk their responsibility to protect our national sites by handing over approval powers to state governments with vested interests.

It's time to stand up and speak out to protect wonders of the natural world that sit within our borders.

What we need now are stronger laws to safeguard our natural and cultural history.

Make your voice heard. Stand with the Australian Conservation Foundation and tell Australia's leaders that you want stronger laws to protect the places we love.
Dear [decision maker], I urge you to strengthen, not weaken, Australia's national environment laws — the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act. [Your comments here] Sincerely, [Your name here]
