Stop Whole Foods from selling live lobsters!

Whole Foods is going back on their promise to end all sales of live lobsters. Please let Whole Foods know that you do not support them in this decision.
After the urging of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and concerned consumers, on June 15, 2006 Whole Foods Market announced that they had banned the sale of live lobsters and soft-shell crabs because of their concern for animal welfare. They made this promise to PETA, to their customers, and to the lobsters and crabs.
To help make the arrival of their new store more welcome by Mainers, Whole Foods has decided to go back on their word and sell live lobsters at their new Portland store. This was done to add to their efforts to support local Maine fisherman and farmers, but it has now been revealed that the lobsters will be coming from New Hampshire, not Maine. Since the lobsters will not be supporting local Maine business, there is no longer a reason to sell live lobsters in their store. Please let your concern be known by signing this petition.
