This 29-Year Old Woman Faces the Death Penalty for Peaceful Protest

Saudi Arabia's public prosecutor is seeking the death penalty for five activists whose only crime is encouraging people to demonstrate for the rights of the Shiite Muslim minority in Saudi Arabia.

One of those five is a woman, 29-year-old Israa al-Ghomgham, who would be the first female in Saudi Arabia to face the death penalty for taking part in peaceful protests for human rights.

The death penalty is a cruel and inhumane punishment, but this plan to execute a woman for her involvement in anti-government protests is even more appalling.

Please sign my petition, urging the Saudi Arabian authorities to drop plans to execute 29-year-old Issra al-Ghomgham immediately.
