Be K.I.N.D - Support the Kids in Need of Desks Program!

In Sub-Saharan Africa, approximately 45 million children are unable to go to school. In Malawi in particular, only one in 5 children has access to school furniture like desks and chairs. Children are forced to sit on dirt floors or on the ground outside for their years of schooling. They are desperate to learn, but the conditions make it physically painful.

The U.S. Fund for UNICEF has teamed up with MSNBC's "The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell" to relieve this gross shortage of school furniture in Malawi. The initiative -- K.I.N.D, or Kids in Need of Desks - is part of UNICEF's Schools for Africa campaign and has provided tens of thousands of desks to hundreds of schools in Malawi.

Pledge to be K.I.N.D and show support for UNICEF's Schools in Africa campaign, which aims to accelerate access to quality basic education for all children.
