This Shameful Loophole Allows People to Own Animal Pornography in Nearly Every State

If someone is caught having sexual intercourse with an animal, you can pretty much bet that it will be a serious crime in most states. But if that same person had a video of someone performing that same act with an animal, it's possible that would be legal, depending on where they live.

That's right; in all but one state, it is legal to possess zoophilic pornography. Currently, the famously liberal state of Oregon is the only state jurisdiction where ownership of animal pornography is prohibited. Surprisingly, even that state just recently enacted the prohibition. Breaking the law could land you in jail for a year and set you back more than $6,000.

Sign to ban the possession of animal pornography in every state.

But you shouldn't need to be from a liberal state to understand that animal pornography is wrong and should be banned. In fact, in most states, it is already illegal to sell and distribute such videos. But for some strange reason, owning animal pornography is still "A-ok." Zoophilic pornography is another way of saying animal abuse. Dogs, cats, horses, and others are abused, molested, violated, and sometimes killed to make these disgusting videos. Anyone possessing these materials is fueling a truly reprehensible market and a heinous act of animal abuse.

It is time that the 49 other states follow Oregon's lead and make ownership of animal pornography illegal. Sign the petition if you agree.

Once you sign, take the extra step of contacting your local state representative and ask them to introduce a bill to make it happen.
