We call for Chancellor Carmen Farina, Deputy Chancellor Elizabeth Rose of the Department of Education and Mayor Bill D Blasio to completely cease the proposed meeting of consolidation of W.E.B Du Bois High School before February 28th 2018 at P.S. 20 the Anna Silver School, 166 Essex Street in Lower Manhattan.
Parents, staff, community leaders and advocates know fact W.E.B Du Bois Public Educational Institution hasn't received the funding necessary to equip themselves with the resources and materials being able to facilitate new and current students above Low Enrollment W.E.B Du Bois High School was expected to receive "compulsory funding through the Learning to Work Program" starting in 2012, but has yet to receive the funds through DOE, also the school was upgraded from a "priority school" to a "focused school" two years ago entitling them to receive tailored resources that still haven't received the funding, the school strides in improvement of resources and programs offered at the school, we call for that opportunity in W.E.B Du Bois High School with the cease of the closing W.E.B Du Bois High School allowing for the investment in students and their historical educational institution long term.
