The City of Cookeville needs help with assistance with the safety between pedestrians and motor vehicles.

Cookeville is a lovable college town which offers many amenities for different kinds of individuals. Whether it be hiking around local waterfalls, enjoying local eateries, and walking around the beautiful university. One thing is for certain, we all love it here; but many issues have arisen, regarding pedestrian and parking opportunities. There have to be more options for pedestrian and motor vehicles in the Cookeville premises. I am asking for a little bit of assistance to keep pedestrians and drivers safe. In my opinion, this could bring more people into Cookeville to witness our beautiful city, which could help with our economy. The importance of implementing a safer parking space is that it is very dangerous for cars to be parked alongside a busy road. Vehicles parking alongside busy motorways could lead to confusion, blockage to entryways, and traffic issues. It is also dangerous for pedestrians as well since they have a higher chance of getting hit by traffic when they are getting out of their vehicles. It would be beneficial to the citizens of Cookeville if the city implemented more public parking spaces near busy areas. Implementing more pedestrian signals and crosswalks between places such as Dixie street can also help with pedestrian safety. This area is residential, so little children are walking around this area a lot. A lot of students are also living across from campus, so they have many pedestrians around that area.
