For our citizens;
Over the past decade, Chatham-Kent has fallen behind other communities that have chosen to upgrade their recreational facilities. Therefore, as a result of other community's actions, they have flourished, and boosted their economic sustainability. During this same time, our leaders chose to be more fiscally responsible and have put ourselves in a much better place financially then those other communities had done that took those risks when they did. Because of this, it is our time now to step up and build something that will be a mainstay in our municipality for decades to come.
There is no better time then the present, to build a state of the art Sports & Entertainment Complex right here in Chatham-Kent. We have all the land we could ask for which is a whopping eighty-six acres of land to be exact. This piece of land sits dormant and harbors some real hurtful memories for many citizens and families. How nice would it be to revitalize that area into something so tremendous and rebuild our community from right there in the heart of it all? Imagine endless entertainment right in your backyard. Add up the savings and the expenses you would no longer have to endure to have a fulfilling family outing. Calculate the boost to our economy with our hard earned money being put right back into our community.
It is time to Build The Complex !!!
For the last twelve years our previous mayor and council eliminated almost $100,000,000 from our debt. They built our credit rating up to an A+ status and put us in a perfect position that we are in right now. A position that now allows us to take on a monumental project that would reinvigorate our city, our community. A massive complex that would help put Chatham-Kent back on the map. The best part, this undertaking would not cost the taxpayers a single dime. We also call on the Federal and Provincial governments to support this revitalization project like they have in all communities across Canada and Ontario. We are now at that point where we can choose to do whatever we want to create a legacy moving forward. We owe it to ourselves, and our children, to move forward and do our part. To build this complex and to attract new comers that would make Chatham-Kent home.
