Conflict has forced almost 60 million people – more than half of them children - from their homes. More people are forcibly on the move now than at any other time since World War II.
The urgency has never been greater and our past failures never more obvious, but it is never too late for us to begin the important work of doing better for the world's children.
We want governments around the world to:
Take action to urge the Canadian government to unite for children everywhere and support a new global deal for child refugees and displaced children.
- Guarantee access to basic education for every refugee child so that no child is out of school for more than one month
- Ensure the protection from abuse and exploitation for all refugee children
- Offer long term solutions to protracted refugee crises
- Uphold existing rules and standards including Convention of the Rights of Refugees, Convention on the Rights of the Child, International Humanitarian Law
