WI Democrats: Support Marriage Equality in Your 2012 Platform!

The gubernatorial recall election is coming up and we want to make sure gay rights are included on this year's Democratic Party platform.
Wisconsin democrats are considering a resolution to include marriage equality on the state party's official platform. Adopting the resolution would move the state closer to recognizing gay marriage and becoming a leader in the marriage equality movement.
Recently, President Obama, the highest ranking Democrat in the country, publicly expressed his support for LGBT Americans' right to marry. Now, it's time for democrats at the state level where marriage law happens to get on board.
Tell the Wisconsin Democratic Party to make sure that the right to gay marriage is included in the party platform!
Dear Wisconsin Democratic Party Leader Mike Tate:
We, the undersigned, strongly urge you to support the resolution to approve gay marriage in this year's Democratic party platform.

The resolution states:
WHEREAS, Section 13 of Article XIII of the Wisconsin Constitution denies equal treatment under the law to same-sex couples and their familes; and
WHEREAS, Wisconsin's Domestic Partner Registry offers limited but critical protections to same-sex couples and their families; and
THEREFORE, RESOLVED, the DPW is committed to: (1) preserving Wisconsin's Domestic Partnership Registry; (2) repealing Section 13 of Article XIII of the Wisconsin Constitution; and (3) supporting marriage equality for same-sex couples.
It's time to move Wisconsin forward. If the state adopts this resolution, Wisconsin will be a step closer to recognizing gay marriage and becoming a leader in the equality movement that is now taking the United States by storm. But we need you and the Democratic Party to agree to help us fight for this.
Please agree to include marriage equality in the party platform this year!
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
