Support Plan to Rebuild Dog Shelter in Safer Area to Protect Homeless and Stray Animals

It is so concerning that numerous animals continue to roam the streets without food, shelter, water and proper care; animals like dogs and cats that are normally kept as sweet, innocent domestic pets. Yet, such is the case in an area in the Ukraine. What’s even worse is that the area is one on the front lines between two armies and continual wars of bombs and bullets. You can read more of this disturbing and shocking issue at &

A shelter in Gorlovka provided shelter for the many displaced dogs in need until continual tragedy struck that created more homelessness and danger. As you note in the stories above, a fire presents more dangers for these homeless pets. As stated, all the medical supplies, surgical tables, the cupboards and the medicine they held. The roof collapsed and windows burst. Only the brick walls remain. Majority of the dogs also survived but staff do not have the means to rebuild, keep the surviving animals safe and provide for their needs, health and well-being.

My efforts through this petition is to encourage the Ukrainian President to step up and do something to support this shelter through rebuilding it, in a safer area possibly and ensure they receive the funding to provide food, supplies, clean fresh water and medical needs for the many stray animals in need. You can help with this mission by signing and sharing, adding your own thoughts and comments. Let’s do what we can to get these poor dogs the help they need.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko – With the recent devastation of the dog shelter at Gorlovka through a fatal fire, I strongly urge you to ensure support for all these displaced animals. Financial and physical support is extremely needed in order for the shelter to rebuild, possibly in a safer area, and provide for the health and well-being of the dogs. Please take drastic measures to ensure that stray dogs can again find a place of safety with proper care, physically and medically. Provide the means to rebuild this facility and ensure that staff receive financial resources for pet supplies, food, clean water and veterinary care. These animals need you to be compassionate and caring in giving them a safe haven in times of need.
