Free Asia Bibi

Asia Bibi has been in prison in Pakistan since being arrested in 2009 on charges of "blasphemy," and despite promises of a pardon from President Zardari remains in jail two years later. Now her supporters are worried she is ill and without access to health care.

Asia Bibi was sentenced to death under a Pakistani law against blasphemy, one which human rights activists say is often little more than a method of oppressing religious minorities or settling personal grudges.

If the sentence is carried out, Asia would be the first woman ever executed under the law, and in fact in 2010 President Zardari promised that if the case is not overturned in a higher court he will personally pardon her.

But a year later Asia Bibi is still in prison. If she doesn't get proper medical attention she might not have the time to wait for that pardon.

Tell President Zardari to pardon Asia Bibi and allow her the medical care she needs and deserves.
President Zardari,

Asia Bibi has been in prison since her arrest in 2009, despite promises you made to have her pardoned. Keeping her in prison is a tremendous violation of her human rights. Even worse, now it seems she is sick and unable to get proper medical care.

Please, pardon Asia Bibi and allow her the medical care she needs and deserves.
