Protest is Patriotic! Drop The Charges Against the Statue of Liberty Climber

Teresa Patricia Okoumou put her safety and her liberty in jeopardy by climbing the Statue of Liberty on the 4th of July. Her goal? To remind the Americans patting themselves on the back during our country's anniversary celebration that there are thousands of immigrant children being held in detention centers, simply because they and their parents wanted them to have all of the benefits that the United States offers. Okoumou didn't put any lives in danger - except possibly her own. She didn't harm others. All she did was conduct a peaceful protest in the most visible way she could. Now, she's facing charges for disorderly conduct, trespassing and another misdemeanor - and a potential 18 months in jail. Peaceful protest is one of the most patriotic things an American citizen can do. Demand the federal courts drop all charges against Okoumou.
