Climate change is hitting the world’s poorest countries hardest, forcing billions of people to live with a crisis they have done nothing to cause. The U.S. is one of the richest and largest contributors to climate change and must drastically cut its climate pollution and support poor countries, if the worst impacts are to be avoided.
Yet the Trump administration has systematically dismantled U.S. policies to tackle climate change, appointed climate deniers and industry bosses throughout the federal government, and pledged to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement – which would see all rich countries cut their emissions.
Progressive Democrats in Congress have introduced a bill to get us to 100% renewable energy by 2050 (the “100 by 50” bill), which be a strong step towards ensuring our country does its part and gets our economy off climate-destroying fossil fuels. Please urge your members of Congress to support the 100 by 50 bill today.
