Create 300,000 More Jobs in Wind Energy and Keep U.S. Factories Open

Mark, Michael, Moises and Josh are a welding team working in Abilene, TX, building wind turbine towers to power our nation with clean energy. They are four of the 88,000 Americans in all 50 states who rely on wind power for well-paying jobs, including rural and rust belt areas in desperate need.

Wind works for America by creating jobs and boosting our economy. With strong leadership, by 2030 we could have 380,000 Americans employed in renewable wind energy.

The wind industry puts Americans to work. Right now over 21,000 U.S. workers in over 500 factories in 43 states make a majority of American wind farm components right here in the USA. We need to keep these factories open.

Wind turbine technician is America's fastest growing profession, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. These highly-skilled men and women install and maintain over 49,000 turbines across the country; among their ranks are many veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Wind power is prepared to bring tens of billions of dollars in private investment to rural and Rust Belt America in the next four years. And 70% of that goes to low-income counties.

At Power of Wind, we want to see more jobs and prosperity brought to our country. Please sign our petition to Congressional leaders today; ask them to support the stable investment policies we need in 2017 to keep supplying homegrown, renewable energy and creating good jobs.

Congressional Leaders:

As you take office in January, I urge you to support common-sense energy policies that create jobs and support economic development in rural and rust belt America.

Wind works for America. With your support, we can build on some exciting trends:

  • Wind is employing more and more Americans. Wind power supports 88,000 well-paying jobs in all 50 states and can support 380,000 jobs by 2030.

  • Wind is good for our economy. Investing in U.S. wind farms has driven over $128 billion in private investment to our economy over the last 10 years, and tens of billions more are on the way right now to low-income counties across America that need it.

  • Wind is a good deal for consumers. Thanks to stable policy and American innovation, the price purchasers pay for wind has dropped by two-thirds over six years.

With stable investment policies and transmission infrastructure in place, wind power can grow to provide 20% of our electricity nationwide by 2030. I hope that I can count on you to help make that vision a reality.
