Stand With Rocky And People Experiencing Homelessness and Poverty.

Imagine battling an addiction without a place to live and you're forced to stay at a shelter. How would you get help? Where would you turn? What about all your possessions?

This was a reality for Rocky and for all too many people on Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. Luckily, Rocky found First United.

"Before my feet even hit the ground, they opened the doors and said, "Welcome home"," Rocky said.

With nowhere else to turn, Rocky stayed in the shelter for a few months while First United staff helped him connect with the resources and services he needed to get back on his feet. He also had a place for his prized and needed possessions thanks to the 200 unit storage facility.

"Without storage, I would have nothing."

First United is about more than providing storage and a place to stay for people like Rocky. He's just one of 500 community members who benefit from advocacy, housing, healing and hospitality, in a community space that supports and celebrates the inherent strengths of all people, of all walks of life every day.
