Petition to Napa City Council: Annex Napa's County Islands in Time for Redistricting and the 2022 Election!

For far too long, thirteen county "islands", which are completely or substantially surrounded by the City of Napa, have been unable to vote in City elections even though they are affected by City decisions. Even though island residents pay $87 more annually in total taxes and fees, they lack sidewalks, street lights, storm drainage, and other amenities enjoyed by other parts of Napa.

The two largest islands are the West Pueblo/Linda Vista and Imola/Parrish islands. They comprise over 2,000 residents who are predominantly working class; about 40% are renters and over 60% are Latinx and Indigenous.

It is high time to end this redlining and voter suppression.

Please sign this petition to show your support for the immediate annexation of the two largest islands in time for the reapportionment of City Council districts that will take place once the 2020 census is complete and in time for the 2022 election.

For more information, including a map with the locations of all thirteen islands, a break down of taxes and fees, and corrections to myths being promoted about annexation, please see the Island Annexation page on the Napa LAFCO website.
