Shaw Cable has continually chosen to not offer the NHL Centre Ice Package to its customers - leaving people only with the option of Satellite. Let's change their mind!
Canadians are generally polite, easy-going, and not hard to please. Although the country is generally not overly religious - we are faithful to hockey.
As a result, Canadians love watching, playing, and dreaming the sport they're so proud to have created. Being a large, prosperous country there are many teams that we follow throughout the year and since almost every game is broadcast somewhere - we'd love to have access to all of them.
One hitch.
The local cable provider in western Canada, Shaw Cable, does not carry the very package that can provide us with our dearest pleasure: The NHL Centre Ice Package.
Other major companies such as Rogers Cable, Cogeco Cable, and Bell ExpressVu Satellite offer the said package in Canada. Shaw Cable is pretty much the only cable company in Western Canada so the only other option is Bell ExpressVu. Not everyone in the world who loves hockey wants to go to satellite for their service. As consumers we want the right to choose providers.
To add insult to injury - Shaw Cable provides NFL Sunday Ticket to its customers - and there's not even one Canadian team in the NFL. Confused? Of course you are.
Being a Canadian means a couple of things. Mullets. Beer. The word "eh". And HOCKEY. There is almost a sense of madness in how important hockey is in the daily lives of the average Canadian. No proof is necessary beyond seeing how our great nation responded to the Gold Medal win in the Salt Lake Olympics.
So here's the proposal. Let's sign this petition and generate some interest for the NHL Centre Ice Package. We present it to Shaw Cable and hopefully they decide to finally carry it. That way we will no longer have to go to Satellite in order to get the goods (as we all don't face southeast in this world).
Thanks for your contributions in advance and let's cross our fingers that this works.
