Senator Heller: Save Clean Car Standards!

The Trump Administration and its auto industry allies are determined to weaken clean cars standards, putting America's largest-ever greenhouse gas reduction in jeopardy and extracting billions of dollars in profits for the oil industry out of the wallets of Americans.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Scott Pruitt, who has claimed to be a champion of state' rights, has also hinted that he might take away states' ability to have stronger vehicle pollution standards than the federal government. Cars are the largest source of pollution in Nevada.

At any moment, EPA Administrator Pruitt is expected to formally announce a repeal of the current clean car standards. Despite repeated announcement of this pending action, Nevada's Senator Dean Heller has remained completely silent on the issue. If these standards are protected, each Nevada family could save $3,050 by 2030.

Our current clean cars standards ensure that Americans who need bigger vehicles for family or work have fuel-efficient choices. If President Trump and Administrator Pruitt succeed in rolling back these standards, families who need those savings will quite literally pay the price.

Add your name today, and call on Senator Heller to demand the Trump Administration stop slamming the breaks on cleaner, more efficient cars!
Subject: Senator Heller: Call on Scott Pruitt to resign or be fired!

Dear Senator Heller,

Higher levels of tailpipe pollution will worsen our air, trigger public health impacts, and exacerbate climate change. EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt is determined to weaken current clean car standards, which would threaten our health, and force Nevadan's to spend even more money on out-of-state oil. According to the American Lung Association, over 180,000 adults and 44,000 children suffer from asthma and more tailpipe pollution would place this vulnerable population at increased risk. And that's simply unacceptable.

Our current clean cars standards ensure that Americans who need bigger vehicles for family or work have fuel-efficient choices. If President Trump and Administrator Pruitt succeed in rolling back these standards, families like mine who need those savings will quite literally pay the price.

Senator Heller, tell the president and Administrator Pruitt to lead the way to developing cleaner, more efficient cars instead of trying to slam the brakes on progress.

Sincerely,
