Speak Up for National Park Service Rangers!
National park rangers and staff are the guides, teachers, scientists, historians and custodians of the natural and cultural history of our nation — entrusted with some of the most important places in America.
Yet year after year, park staff have been asked to do more with less. More and more visitors come to the parks, but staffing and budgets have fallen behind.
That could all change if you speak out today! The new budget proposal from the White House would increase funding for the National Park Service by $295 million — the largest increase in decades.
Tell Congress that you want them to support a park budget that will send help to the rangers and staff who are so vital to America's national parks!

Dear [Decision maker],
As an advocate for America's parks, I am writing to ask you to help improve funding for national parks as spending legislation moves forward. Our national parks are struggling with significant understaffing and need help from leaders like you in Washington.
The park service is having an even harder time taking care of our parks because visitation has been skyrocketing. Meanwhile, climate change is increasing the need for scientific research, but there are too few staff to do the job.
Fortunately, the new budget from the president provides a ray of hope by asking Congress to significantly improve funding for our national parks. The $295 million increase to operate national parks would help bring a thousand rangers and other staff back to our parks. It would also allow the park service to better care for wildlife habitat and other natural resources and adapt parks to a changing climate.
Please support our national parks by supporting the new budget request for the National Park Service as the appropriations process moves forward for Fiscal Year 2022. Thank you for considering my views.
