On 13 November 1818 - Mission Census Report notes Don Damasio de la Cruz, as Indian Governor of San José de Aguayo Mission in San Antonio, Texas.
In 1823, Damasio de la Cruz was granted formal title to the property now known as Mission County Park in San Antonio. We are asking that Mission County Park in San Antonio be renamed to Damasio de la Cruz County Park in honor of the Indians who founded Mission San José.
We need to have something named for a local San Antonio Natives. Must we continue with complete ethnic and cultural disregard for the first Americans in San Antonio? Please sign this petitions in support of the renaming of Mission County Park to Damasio De la Cruz County Park in San Antonio, Texas.
