Throughout April and May, Palestinians in Gaza have rallied on the Great Return March in the face of incredible odds. Israeli security forces have cracked down on this protest every week since it started, killing over 100 Palestinians and injuring 10,000.
Israel's attacks on protesters in Gaza are only the latest example of its militarised repression of Palestinians. Israel's military targets unarmed Palestinians with tear gas grenades, rubber-coated bullets and live ammunition, and carries out mass arrests, house demolitions and extrajudicial executions. This brutality lies at the heart of Israel's systematic violations of Palestinian rights, amounting to serious breaches of international law, and even war crimes.
The majority of Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip today are refugees. In Gaza, these refugees are not only dispossessed and displaced, but now living under a military occupation and siege which prevents them from accessing even their most basic human rights.
War on Want runs ongoing campaigns for justice for Palestinians. Sign up with us today and hear more about how we are pressing the UK government to hold Israel to account for its human rights violations, and stay updated on our Stop Arming Israel campaign.
