This is a petition in which the signed agree to cancel their Planetside station.com accounts on May 19th in protest to Sony Online Entertainment not banning cheaters nor implementing any anti-cheat software to deal with future cheaters.
We the undersigned do hereby formally declare that, due to recent inactions on the part of Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) to prevent players from using third party software, programs, applications, or utilities to modify the Software or to change or otherwise affect, alter or modify play of Planetside in according with section 9 of the End User License Agreement (EULA), we pledge to collectively terminate our station.com Planetside subscription accounts.
In protest, these station.com subscription terminations will begin on this day of May 9th 2006 and will continue until May 19th of 2006, the majority of which we expect and intend to take place on May 19th of 2006.
This action is in direct relation to the recent events that have been made evident on the Planetside.com Werner forums wherein two seperate Planetside players were found to be violating section 9 of the EULA and yet no noticeable action was taken by SOE to rectify their violation.
It is our, the undersigned, belief that this inaction on the part of SOE will serve to further erode the foundations of Planetside until ultimately it is a game synonomous with cheating and a place inhospitable to players who choose to honor the EULA and play honorably and fair.
Let this petition be an indication of the honest intentions of the Planetside Werner community that we will not tolerate the violations of these two players nor any future violations of this nature made by others. We choose instead to take a stand against a practice that we believe contradicts the spirit of fair play and good sportsmanship in the hopes that SOE will better comprehend the magnitude of their mistakes in allowing these violations to continue in blatant view of all.
