DON'T CUT THE EXTENDED FERRY SERVICE

UPDATE - SUCCESS!  Your support made the difference!  The Mayor and Council voted to extend Alderney Ferry Service for another year!

********

Did you know ridership on the Alderney ferry is up by 47 per cent since 2015? That's when HRM council voted to add an extra ferry crew to provide more frequent service on weekdays and Sundays.

Now, not only are more people riding the ferry, but more than 20 new businesses have opened in downtown Dartmouth since the increased schedule was introduced. Plus, the current level of ferry service is consistent with Council's planning objectives to build a vibrant core with increased transit options.

On March 28, council will vote on whether or not to keep the extra ferry crew. If they vote no, we go back to NO ferry service on Sunday mornings or evenings, and 30-minute service on weekdays, except for peak rush hour. This could decision could have a damaging impact on ferry ridership and business in downtown Dartmouth.
