Stop Namibia's Export Of Young Elephants To Dubai Safari Park

A Namibian trophy hunting property is selling five young elephants, from age 4 to 8, to a zoo (Dubai Safari Park) in Dubai, UAE.

Elephants are highly intelligent, sentient animals, with a highly organized social structure and form strong family bonds that can last a lifetime. Disruption of this bond is physically and psychologically traumatic for a young elephant and his herd left behind.

Elephants captured from the wild for captive use go through a "taming" process where harsh and harmful techniques are used to submit the animal to human dominance. Lastly, condemning a wild elephant to lifelong captivity in a zoo is inhumane.

Selling elephants and keeping them in captivity has no conservation benefits. African elephants belong in the wild in the African soil and should not be held captive for entertainment in a zoo.

These majestic animals are synonymous with the natural wonders and heritage of Africa. Namibia's wild elephants do not belong in a zoo in the UAE.

Tell Namibian and UAE officials to stop the export of baby elephants to Dubai Safari Park!
Subject: Namibia’s wild elephants do not belong in a zoo in the UAE

The Honorable Minister Shifeta and His Excellency Dr. Al Zeyoudi,

I am writing to request that you take urgent action to stop the trade and the transfer of five elephants from Eden Wildlife property in Namibia to Dubai Safari Park.

Elephants are highly intelligent, sentient animals, with a highly organized social structure and strong family bonds. Disruption of this bond is physically and psychologically traumatic for a calf and his herd left behind. Elephants captured from the wild for captive use go through a "taming" process where harsh and harmful techniques are used to submit the animal to human dominance. Lastly, condemning a wild elephant to lifelong captivity in a zoo is inhumane.
