Help more Colorado Kids have a Strong Start in Life

This month, Colorado legislators return to work in Denver, and you can help ensure they make kids a top priority this legislative session!

Colorado has made great gains in early childhood education, but we still rank near the bottom of the pack in per-pupil preschool funding compared to other states. Thousands of our state's children, particularly from middle and low-income homes, arrive at kindergarten without the same skills as their peers.

Early childhood programs produce lasting gains in academic achievement, increased graduation rates and reduced crime rates. Let's make a resolution this year to give Colorado's kids what they need to thrive.

Please sign to tell your lawmakers to kick off this legislative session by putting kids first and supporting early childhood learning.

Dear [Decision maker],

I urge you to make early childhood education and care a priority this legislative session.

Colorado has made great gains in early childhood education, but we still rank near the bottom of the pack in per-pupil preschool funding compared to other states. Thousands of our state's children, particularly from middle and low-income homes, arrive at kindergarten without the same skills as their peers.

We can do better! I ask that this year you make kids a priority.

Please protect funding for the Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP), support reauthorization of the Child Care Contribution Tax Credit (CCTC) and help reduce the use of early childhood suspension and expulsions by pushing policies, and funding, to give teachers and care centers appropriate alternatives for our youngest learners.

Thank you for putting kids first by supporting early childhood learning.

Sincerely,
