Inglis, Florida---"Is This America?"
This petition is for Americans who are apalled by the events in Inglis, FL. Mayor Carolyn Risher has thrown her small town back into the medieval ages, "banning Satan" and dictating her beliefs. Using town letterhead to do so, she has disregarded town ordinances and degraded Florida government by her antics. Please see a letter I have written to Governor Bush (below). I have sent a copy already to both Bush and Mayor Risher, and once we have earned a substantial number of signatures, I will send the signed petition! Please sign this petition; let Governor Bush and the rest of the country know that the integrity of our government and seperation of Church and State is important to the American People.

Dear Governor Bush, I am writing you as a U.S. Citizen extremely concerned about the events in Inglis, FL. I am a resident of New Jersey, and as many Americans, celebrate the diversity around me. I am appalled at Mayor Carolyn Risher's imposing beliefs. Her very forcing of morality goes against the acceptance of diversity that is needed to tie this country and world (the majority of which is not Christian) together. I believe Mayor Risher needs to be reminded of the separation of Church and State, and that the Satan is not found in weekly teenage dances. Furthermore, her disregard for mandates that do not allow town letterhead to be used for propaganda and opinion is a disgrace to the government of Florida. Her actions will produce a hateful and condemning community, a wrongful and negative view of Florida's government, and citizens chastised by, or ashamed of, the town of Inglis. As Governor of the state of Florida, I ask you to take action. Do not allow degradation to our country and constitution. Mayor Risher's abuse of power must not be allowed to continue or exemplify our government. I thank you for your time and you consideration in this matter, and I wish you the best success in your endeavors to maintain the integrity of our country and its citizens. Sincerely, The Undersigned
