Support Genuine Wildlife Sanctuaries

Many travellers are becoming more aware of the animal welfare issues around wildlife tourism. Whether it's elephant rides, sloth selfies or dolphin shows, more people are rejecting the cruel activities and looking for animal friendly ways to see wild animals on holiday.

If you're not able to see wild animals in the wild, the next best place is a genuine wildlife sanctuary.

But that's where things can get tricky, because some venues exploit tourists' desires to do the right thing for animals. Some venues label themselves 'sanctuaries' when they in fact offer some of the cruellest and most distressing activities, and keep their animals in the poorest conditions.

World Animal Protection has created a handy checklist on what makes a genuine sanctuary to help you decide which venues you should visit. Use this form to sign up to hear more from World Animal Protection and we will send you this downloadable checklist FREE!
