Germany Must Pass a Law to Protect Breastfeeding Women!

Right now in Germany, breastfeeding women have no legal protection while out and about. This means that women could be kicked out of public spaces if they need to feed their baby!

Sign the petition to ask Germany to pass a law that would protect breastfeeding women from discrimination in public.

Imagine a woman is out shopping with her partner, two kids and young baby. She needs to feed her baby so she sits down in a cafe with her family and begins feeding. That cafe could legally kick her and her family out! This is just wrong and discriminatory. It shouldn't be up to individual shop owners to decide that women can or cannot feed their child there. This should just be a normal part of society.

There is nothing offensive about a child eating and the fact that we constantly sexualize women's breasts when they are serving to feed their children is grossly inappropriate. The effect of this lack of legal protection means that women are not as comfortable and safe getting around while breastfeeding. Many women breastfeed for the first several years of a child's life and it's not fair to expect them to hide away at home or in unsanitary bathrooms as a result.

Breastfeeding is the healthiest thing for a child, which means that society should rush to support it, not shame and discriminate against women who do it.
