MARATHON COUNTY (MyFoxWausau) - Marathon County prosecutors have charged a 20-year old Wausau woman with animal abuse charges. Sean D. Janas is being held in the Marathon County jail on a $2,500 cash bond. Her next court appearance is a preliminary hearing scheduled for October 31. At that hearing, a judge will determine if there is enough evidence to send to send Janas to trial. Marathon County Assistant District Attorney Lamont Jacobson calls the case one of the most disturbing cases of animal abuse he has seen in his career, "It is just disturbing that someone could to this to an animal, and according to the diary she kept, it appears she took joy in abusing the animal." According to the criminal complaint, Janas wrote a number of diary entries about abusing her boyfriend's dog. It reads "I need to find a way to killer her without it looking like I killed her." Officers who have seen the diary quoted it as further saying, "But the pleasure I get from watching her whimper in pain and cry out for help as I shove drano and bleach down her throat is like no other." Investigators say the dog named Mary, died in June. We tried to reach attorney Dave Casey, who is handling the case for Janas. We have not yet heard back from him. If convicted on the charges, Janas faces more than five years behind bars and $30,000 in fines. If you want to read the criminal complaint, click here. However be warned, there is profane and graphic language in the complaint that some readers may find offensive.
