Ask your elected officials to find a permanent solution for Dreamers

Congress has tried to pass various versions of the Dream Act for the last 20 years, but nearly 2 million Dreamers are still waiting for legal status.

While DACA provides temporary relief for some, the actions taken under the previous administration illustrated how easily that could be challenged. Dreamers need a permanent legislative solution to provide stability for themselves, their families, and our communities.

Two-thirds of Americans support a solution that allows Dreamers to stay in the U.S. and earn a pathway to citizenship. The public support is there, but Congress needs to muster the political will to make this a reality.

Take a few minutes to urge your elected officials to support Dreamers and provide a legal pathway to citizenship.

I am your constituent from [advCity], [advState], and I ask that you work across the aisle to create a permanent solution for Dreamers. They are valuable members of our communities and have been essential workers on the frontlines of the pandemic response. Dreamers are healthcare workers, business owners, students, and parents. Over the next 10 years, they will contribute an estimated $433 billion to the GDP, $60 billion in fiscal impact, and $12.3 billion in taxes to Social Security and Medicare.

More importantly, as a person of faith, I believe that we are called to speak out when our laws are unjust. It is the height of injustice to see Dreamers -- who were brought here as children and in many cases know no other home -- face deportation and separation from their families. Please support Dreamers and allow them to make America their permanent home.
