Share Your Broadband Story

Just as the United States built highways to connect people from one part of the country to another, broadband is the necessary connection to usher in the next era of prosperity and innovation.

The Alliance for Public Technology is sponsoring a contest to demonstrate this fact and raise awareness of the benefits of advanced high-speed internet access and the way it is transforming the lives of real people in real ways. Their goal is to encourage the universal deployment and adoption of broadband in the United States.

So share your story, and you could win $1,000 for first place, $500 for second or $250 for third. It's easy, just explain how has broadband changed your life in 50 words or more. For example, has broadband:
* Connected you with distant friends and relatives? * Helped students collaborate? * Aided you or your doctor in treating a medical condition? * Been a tool for independent living? * Leveraged your ability to make a difference in your life and the world? Please note that by entering, you give permission to for Alliance for Public Technology to contact you, post your entry on their website and have it publicized. The first place winner will also receive a trip to Washington and a ticket to an Inaugural Ball. The deadline is October 1, 2008, and you must be at least 18 years of age and a resident of the United States to enter. For the full rules, visit the Alliance for Public Technology website. Good luck!
