The America's Natural Treasures of Immeasurable Quality Unite, Inspire, and Together Improve the Economies of States (ANTIQUITIES) Act would reinstate the original boundaries for Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante national monuments, plus extend protections to 50 more. It would also make clear that while presidents have authority to create monuments, they lack the authority to shrink or eliminate them, as President Trump attempted to do by executive order in 2017.

As an advocate for national parks and public lands, I am writing to express my support for the long-term protection of Grand Staircase-Escalante and Bears Ears National Monuments in southern Utah. Considering the recently released Department of the Interior proposed management plans for these sites, I am acutely aware of their vulnerability.
Please do everything you can to support and pass the America's Natural Treasures of Immeasurable Quality Unite, Inspire, and Together Improve the Economies of States (ANTIQUITIES) Act (H.R. 1050 /S. 367), in order to adequately protect these unique national treasures before it's too late.
Unlike the administration's recent proposed management plans that would simply further threaten these sites, HR. 1050/S. 267 would restore Grand Staircase-Escalante to its original boundaries and solidify Bears Ears National Monument as it was originally envisioned at 1.9 million acres, ensuring certainty for the future of our public lands.
As your constituent, I urge you to secure long-term protection for the irreplaceable landscape in southern Utah and in monuments across the country by supporting and passing H.R. 1050/S.367.
