In March, President Trump is planning to
visit California to check out plans and project updates for his border wall. This will be Trump's first trip to California as president.
The truth is, he shouldn't bother coming - we don't want his border wall, and we don't want him here. Please sign this petition telling Trump that he is not welcome in California!
It's no secret that Trump does not represent Californian values. In the 2016 election, he lost California to Hillary Clinton by 4 million votes, an outright rejection by the state of his authoritarian, ultra-conservative platform. Trump has also repeatedly criticized California for having "sanctuary cities," where local authorities refuse to comply with federal immigration officers. He is now threatening to pull Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers from the state as punishment.
During his visit, Trump is scheduled to first visit San Diego, where he will view eight prototypes for his border wall. But according to a survey by
Public Policy Institute of California, most Californians don't even approve of a border wall in the first place.
