If you're a tourist sympathetic to animal rights get your hanky ready before coming; if you're faint-hearted don't come at all!

By the side of paths and roads you'll see the bodies of dogs or cats that have been run over; you'll see the dried blood of our furry friends who, only the day before, were seeking a kind hand containing some treats: a small piece of sandwich or a few samosa crumbs.

YES, because on this wonderful island dogs roam, reproduce and are destined to die quickly under the wheels of fast cars, or slowly from disease, hunger and neglect. Ill-treatment is common, dogs are slashed with sabers; they're beaten and tortured while the perpetrators go unpunished. Cats fare little better, but they're less visible, they hide in fear.

People abandon their animals as and when they see fit, for reasons beyond our understanding and everyone thinks it's normal! Innocent animals who, for a short time, foolishly believed in their master's love ...

Why do all those working to prevent animal cruelty on the island feel so helpless and alone? We need to stop condoning this MADNESS, we must enforce the LAW! We need to develop mass sterilization to prevent animal suffering from spreading, and educate people to respect other living beings from an early age!We have to put a STOP to this anarchy on the island!

Humans cannot just do as they see fit with other living creatures!

Those working for Animal Protection cannot solve all of the misery plaguing the island!
