Rep. Charles Van Zant, a Florida Republican and Baptist minister, has proposed House Bill 1151, which has also been called the "Florida for Life Act".
This legislation would impose felony charges against doctors who carry out abortions unless two medical professionals put down in writing that it is needed in order to save the woman's life. This would be the only exception.
If only one doctor is able to represent the procedure, he or she will need to prove that it was a "medical emergency" and no other doctor was available. This "emergency" would have to be described in detail.
If a doctor or doctors go against these guidelines, they could be charged with a maximum sentence of life in prison.
Please tell Charles Van Zant not to push felony charges for abortion doctors!
Dear Rep. Charles Van Zant,
Please do not push for felony charges for abortion doctors. This will not only go up against Roe v. Wade, but it will ruin the lives of abortion doctors and put thousands of women's lives in jeopardy.
