Help Save My Innocent Dog Mojo From Being Killed
My goal in making this petition is to present my community's response to the sentencing of my American Pitbull Terrior in a nice organized manner.
Mojo is currently at the Des Moines Animal Shelter until being euthinized. I am fighting to stop this from happening. The Hearing officer ruled that he is a "dangerous animal" and needs to be killed. I have appealed this ruling and arguing this judgment has been made in err, thus, violating Due Process.
Please sign this in hopes that they realize my dog is loved by all for many reasons.
We, the undersigned, are speaking out in regards to case #08-39009 where Shannon Simmons' pitbull Mojo was declared dangerous and to be destroyed after an altercation with a neighbor dog.
We believe this decision has been made in error due to the lack of evidence to prove the elements of this case and classify Mojo as dangerous under Section 18-196. As the prosecution has failed to prove necessary elements, the hearing officer could not have ordered my dog destroyed under either statute which would allow such an order to be given. This being the case, the hearing officer committed an error with the Counsel must now correct.
Thus we ask the ladies and gentlemen of the counsel to reverse the Hearing officer's order and return my dog to me. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
