Traffic Light in Lily, Kentucky
There is a very dangerous intersection at the bottleneck in Lily, Kentucky. Where Lily School Road comes out at the Chevron Station and Daycare, there are several entrances to KY HWY 25/South Laurel Road just as the road curves and narrows at the bridge. There have been several accidents in this area and the area is especially dangerous before and after school and at church times. Families who live, work, go to school, or do business in South Sublimity as well as the Lily area use this intersection several times a day. A pressure-sensitive light would greatly minimize driver stress and near-accidents in this area. Businesses north and south of this intersection would also benefit from the occasional lull in traffic caused by a traffic light.
We the undersigned support the placement of a pressure-sensitive traffic light at the north intersection of KY HWY 25 and Lily School Road in Lily, Kentucky. We are concerned for our safety as we enter, exit, and cross KY HWY 25 at the curving bottleneck of the bridge. It is difficult to see oncoming traffic and driver frustration at not being able to enter the high-speed traffic stream cause ill-advised entrances and near-collisions and accidents. Families going to and from daycare, school, church, the post office, the gas station, homes, and businesses are at risk and we desire to make this intersection as safe as possible for ourselves and our children.
