AMMEND LEGISLATION TO INCLUDE CHILD RESTRAITS ON BUSES FOR CHILDREN 4 TO 7 years
Basically the current Victorian legislation for child restraints on buses does not exist. The new legislation in November 2009 has an improvement (which is fantastic) for child restraint in cars, but has not included school buses which carry in excess of 12 passengers.
Therefore a child under 140cm is allowed to be improperly restrainted in a bus with a sash seat belt (or even no seat belt, if the school bus does not have any!
I ask, why, (in the new legislation, should a child be properly restrainted between the ages of 4-7 in cars but have no rights in a school bus!
Lets get lots of signatures to show our concern!
