Boycott the Sales of Live Animal Keychains in China

China has begun selling keychains that are attached to a plastic bag containing a Brazilian turtle or two small kingfish. The animals are entrapped in a seven inch plastic bag with a colored water. This colored water is said to contain nutrients that will allow the animal to live for a few months, and then they perish. According to Helablog, the specimens are then recommended to be microwaved and eaten, as if it isn't bad enough.  Many vets have voiced their opinion that the animals can't last a few months due to oxygen deprivation. These keychains are being sold by vendors in cities in spots such as subways stations and street corners and are supposedly selling well. The only Animal Protection laws in China refer to Wildlife, which these species do not fall under, so the laws cannot protect them.  People are buying them because they look neat and are entertaining for their children. Please help us put an end to these sales, therefore cutting off the demand for these products. If they cannot sell them, they will discontinue making them. We may not be able to change China's Animal Protection Laws, but we can boycott the sales of products that do not apply common decency and basic rights to their principle.
