Save wildlife animals - build deer fencing along roads

This petition involves building inexpensive deer fencing along freeways, railroad tracks and highways in rural areas to prevent wildlife animals from being killed by moving vehicles. Everyday thousands of wildlife animals are killed or severely hurt by being struck by oncoming vehicles on our roads, freeways and highways. A vast majority of these wildlife animals are coyote and deer. The good news is, we can change this and dramatically reduce these innocent wildlife animals from being struck by vehicles by a good 90% by building inexpensive deer fencing along roads, railroad tracks, freeways and highways. It would save much time and money among the highway enforcement, and not to mention the agony and suffering among the wildlife animals. Could you imagine being struck by a vehicle at 65 mph and live, but only to live with internal injuries, broken bones, severe cuts and scrapes, and severe impact on the concrete, and to endure this suffering on the side of the road for days with nobody that cares enough to help you? You could never imagine it unless it actually happened to you. It would also be advisable to build the fences as new roads are created. Let's do these poor, innocent wildlife animals a favor and build them fences and keep them in their habitat where they belong.

We the undersigned:

We would like to see a major change in our road and wildlife services. The proposed petition involves building inexpensive deer fencing along freeways, railroad tracks and highways in rural areas. Of course there are already some roads with wildlife fencing and this fencing is in most cases ineffective in preventing them from crossing, because most of the fences are only 3 feet high, giving them the opportunity to jump the fences, or the fences are poorly built, meaning they can squeeze right through the openings in the fence, and we need much more fencing to cover vast amounts of rural highways. The "mesh" fencing should be six to eight feet high so that they cannot jump it. Culverts need to be installed under the roads and/or tracks where the animals normally cross so they can get to the things they need to survive. You see the signs showing deer crossings so they know where the most animal traffic is. The fences should be repaired as needed. It would also be advisable to build the fences as new roads are created. Some suggestions for the use of fencing materials is to use corrosion proof fence that is carbon black with added UV protection allowing for maximum flex, strength and durability. The benefits of this fencing:

- Year Round Protection

- Strong and Versatile

- 15-20 Year Life

- Light Weight

- Less costly than conventional heavy metal

- Exhibiting strengths far superior than most commonly sold black
   polypropylene

- Meshed

- Nearly Invincible
