Discriminatory practices of insurance companies

It is the discrimatory practice of all major insurance companies to use an applicants credit history to either deny them coverage for their automobile insurance, or place them in an assigned risk category.

Their reasoning for this practice is that they feel that people who have low credit scores will deliberately have accidents in order to make a claim against their policy. This is not only discriminatory, it is also slanderous.

Therefore, I petition the state legislature in every state and members of Congress to draft and pass a law making it illegal for any insurance carrier to use an applicant's credit history when drawing up an automobile insurance policy for them.  They MUST consider the individual driving record of all applicants ONLY.
