End the U.S. War in Afghanistan
To ask President Obama and Members of Congress to end the war in Afghanistan.
Whereas: 1. The US has been fighting in Afghanistan for nearly 8 years. 2. US military leaders now say the war is not winnable by military means.
3. The war in Afghanistan is destabilizing Pakistan.
We the undersigned urge you to:
1. Support HR 2404 which requires an exit strategy from Afghanistan.
2. Stop sending additional troops to Afghanistan.
3. Work for a negotiated peace settlement involving all the players in the region, including Iran and the Taliban.
4. Ensure that women are included in these peace negotiations.
5. Provide development aid to small-scale local Afghan projects.
6. Combine this diplomacy and development with withdrawal of US troops and bases.
