Vote for Fireworks Ban Choice
This is a petition to the King County Council asking for reconsideration of an ordinance change which would permit neighborhoods (fire protection districts) in unincorporated King County to create "no fireworks" zones. The current situation is that cities have the right to decide whether or not to allow fireworks on Independence Day, but unincorporated areas do not. The goal of this petition is to give neighborhoods local control through a voting process. If the ordinance is approved, it will take at least 10 petition signatures from elector-residents of each voting precinct within the boundaries of the no fireworks zone to set the issue for hearing. If approved, it will take one year before a ban can take effect. Do you support the right to choose whether or not to ban fireworks in unincorporated King County Fire Districts?
We, the undersigned, wish to have the right to choose whether or not to allow fireworks on Independence Day in our Fire Districts in unincorporated King County.
