America's Wild Horses in the West

Federal land throughout the American West is home to thousands of healthy wild horses. Yet as herds continue to grow, Bureau of Land Management officials continue to trap hundreds of wild horses %u2013 condemning many of them to live the rest of their lives in holding pens. Most of the horses are killed, slaughtered, and poisoned. Only 10% of the wild horses are adopted.

Recently, the U.S. House overwhelmingly passed the Restoring Our American Mustangs (ROAM) Act -- a bill working to protect wild horses. The ROAM Act would step up fertility control measures, encourage more adoptions and provide as much as 19 million additional acres for the wild animals to roam.

Take action to help our nation's wild mustangs %u2013 urge your Senators to support the ROAM Act to protect America's wild horses and burros.

Sincerely,
Deborah Simpson
